BEER BOILED BRATS

2 dozen brats
2 large onions quartered
6 celery stalks cut in big chunks
2 bay leaves
1-2 tsp. red pepper flakes (to taste)
1 tbs. garlic powder

6 bottles good flavorful beer
1 quart (or more) chicken broth

Good buns or hoagie rolls.

Optional condiments:
Mustard
Relish
Sauerkraut
Chopped onions

Place first 6 ingredients in large oversized stock pot. Pour in beer. Pour chicken broth to cover 2-3 inches above brats. Bring to boil then lower to simmer for 30 minutes. Brats can be kept warm with a low simmer or turn flame off and leave brats in warm beer mixture.
